Personal Health Insurance is required for all JFK Muhlenberg Snyder School students. Please be advised that Union County College no longer offers personal health insurance, and this must be purchased independently. All JFK Muhlenberg Snyder Schools Health Programs require Health Insurance to attend clinical classes. Failure to comply will result in your being unregistered from the course.
If you are not covered or will be covered by the start of the semester, you must obtain Health Insurance.
The Affordable Health Care Act Annual Open Enrollment Period for health insurance begins November 1, 2016 and extends through January 31, 2017. Although Open Enrollment is until January 31st, students starting in the spring 2017 semester need to be enrolled by January 16th. The Annual Open Enrollment Period for 2017/2018 is not known at this time. Medical Insurance can only be acquired during this open enrolment period unless there are allowed exceptions per the NJ State Banking and Insurance agency.
For more information about obtaining health insurance along with dates for open enrollment and conditions that permit purchase outside that open enrollment period, go to the NJ State Banking and Insurance website: http://www.state.nj.us/dobi/division_insurance/ihcseh/ihcmain.htm
Important: Entry into Nursing clinical courses, Medical Imaging professional courses and entry into the Residential Housing facility requires proof of health insurance – whether for the spring or the fall semester.
